Hey folks!!! How've you been? Busy? Yep, me too (as evident by me not posting in quite some time...sorry, everyone!!! I'll get into a routine...eventually). So, first things first, hats off to the amazing folks at WayForward. Their team has managed to get their current project, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero fully funded!!! Congratulations!!!

For those of you that don't know, a Kickstarter fund was set up for the pint-sized genie girl's new game in the franchise. You can continue to donate to make their stretch goals
here. As of this blog post, they have 10,275 backers and $408,741 pledged of their $400,000 goal with 10 days left.
They have a really cool ninja outfit and another one that resembles that which the protagonist of Mighty Switch Force, Patricia Wagon, wears!!!

Shantae's current design looks adorable and although I've never had the pleasure of playing
ANY of her previous titles, I
DO intend to make a contribution to WayForward's efforts however small. I support WayForward particularly due to the heavy influence of Jake Kaufman's musical compositions. Some of his work is available with a "name your own price" tag on www.bandcamp.com (which I HIGHLY recommend you take a look at and contribute towards).
As I've stated before, I've had no previous exposure to Shantae outside of a retro look into her GameBoy Color game in an issue of Nintendo Power (I miss that magazine dearly). However, from what I've read, heard, and seen, it was considered a sort of "diamond in the rough" and now it's apparently available on the Wii U virtual console!!! (See? Another great reason to perhaps invest in Nintendo's underdog console!) As such, I may decide to purchase the original adventure if time and resources permit. Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is going to be available for the Wii U, PS3, PS4, VITA & VITA TV, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Steam (Windows PC).

Another great Kickstarter fund you may want to look into as well is Mighty No. 9 available soon on the PS3, XBOX 360, and the Wii U. What's REALLY cool is that Mega Man developer studio, Inti Creates is working together with WayForward on Shantae: Half-Genie Hero as well!!! (They are known for their work on Mega Man 9 & 10 as well as many other popular titles). Right now Mighty No. 9 has 42,768 backers and $2,437,677 pledged of $900,000 goal with 1 week to go. Please show your support!!!
Honestly, I would LOVE to see Shantae in Beck's outfit as an alternate costume (even if it's merely for aesthetic effect) but unfortunately, as of this time, that costume is only a mere concept...
